Sylvia looked at her watch

Shit.
Obviously somewhere public was the right place to meet.
Obviously he could have turned out to be a rapist or serial killer.
Now though she was just painfully aware that she was standing, alone, on a busy street feeling awkward and increasingly anxious.
It’s no surprise.
I’ve no luck with this kind of thing.
No luck with anything really.
Stupid to have even turned up
He seemed so nice, but it was probably just an act.
Or maybe he saw me and left again.
Then a soft, timid, kind voice said
“Sylvia?”
