#76 Toulouse

It was a magical time. We would meet in the early afternoon in the Parisian cafés and we would eat and drink and talk the day away.

When the evenings came we would separate and go to our studios to create. Sometimes alone, sometimes in groups. Sometimes, fuelled by an afternoon’s consumption of wine, we would progress to drinking absinthe or taking mescaline. Sometimes both.

I created all my best work when we drank the absinthe. There was something about watching the burning sugar drip into the glass that stimulated me in a way that nothing else could.
