#69 Better Living Through Chemistry
I awake at 7:30 as usual.
I type a few commands into the bedside console and slide my wrist cuff into the control unit. There is a hiss and I am filled with an all pervasive sense of well-being.
“Good morning sweetie” says Cindy.
“You woke before me?” I ask, smiling with pleasure to see her and kissing her on the cheek.
“Yes, my sleep was unsettled, finding out about Carole’s death yesterday upset me.”
“I felt a little melancholy myself, but I reported it on the console and now I feel a lot better.”
“Me too sweetie” she smiles.
