“It all started with this little tear in my carpet.”
David shifted and fidgeted uneasily in his seat. Across the desk the doctor remained calm and impassive. After a few moments of David’s continued nervous motion, the Doctor remove his glasses and leaned forward, placing the glasses on the desk and leaning on his elbows.
“Go on” he said.
David blinked four times rapidly, his eyelids like a hummingbirds wings. He then licked his lips. Swallowed hard and continued.
“Well, when I looked at what was beneath it, there was nothing there.”
“Absolutely nothing at all.”
